Anaya is Afterlife's AI assistant, built to help you understand succession planning, unclaimed assets, insurance, and our platform features. This policy explains how Anaya works, what it can and cannot do, and how we protect your data.
What is Anaya?
Anaya is an AI-powered assistant built on large language models (LLMs). Anaya provides general information, explanations, and guidance on topics related to succession planning, unclaimed assets, insurance claims, wills, and Afterlife platform features. Anaya learns from your questions and improves over time, but Anaya is not a person — it's a machine learning system designed to be helpful, harmless, and honest.
What Anaya Can Help With
Anaya is designed to assist with:
- General information about succession planning — understanding the basics of wills, nominees, and digital asset organisation
- Unclaimed assets in India — how to search for and claim insurance payouts, refunds, and dormant bank accounts
- Insurance and claims — explaining insurance terms, claim processes, and common questions
- Will creation — guidance on structuring a will and what information to include
- Afterlife platform features — how to use the app, organise your vault, set up trusted contacts, and manage your succession plan
- General questions — any other topic where general information might be useful
What Anaya Cannot Do
Anaya is NOT a financial advisor, NOT a lawyer, and NOT a tax consultant. Anaya cannot and will not:
- Provide personalised financial advice — Anaya cannot recommend specific investments, asset allocations, or financial strategies based on your personal circumstances
- Provide legal advice — Anaya cannot interpret laws, advise on succession matters specific to your situation, or represent you in any legal capacity
- Provide tax advice — Anaya cannot advise on tax implications, deductions, or filing strategies
- Access your accounts — Anaya has no access to your bank accounts, financial records, or any external systems
- Make decisions for you — Anaya can provide information to help you decide, but cannot and should not make decisions for you
- Guarantee accuracy — While we work to ensure accuracy, Anaya can make mistakes. Always verify important information with qualified professionals
How We Use Your Conversations
Your conversations with Anaya help us improve the assistant and provide better service:
- For improvement — With your permission, we may anonymise your conversations and use them to train and improve Anaya's responses
- Not for marketing — We do not use your conversations to create marketing profiles or target you with ads
- Not shared with third parties — Your conversations are not sold, rented, or shared with external companies for any purpose
- Transparency — If you ask Anaya about your data, it will tell you exactly what we collect and how we use it
How We Secure Your Data
All conversations with Anaya are protected:
- Encrypted in transit and at rest — Conversations are encrypted using industry-standard protocols
- Stored securely — Conversation data is stored on secure servers within India in compliance with data localisation requirements
- Automatic deletion — Conversations are automatically deleted after 90 days unless you opt into longer retention for improvement purposes
- Access controls — Only you and Afterlife engineers (for system maintenance) can access your conversation history
Accuracy & Limitations
AI systems like Anaya can make mistakes. While we continuously work to improve accuracy:
- Hallucinations — Anaya may occasionally generate information that sounds plausible but is incorrect
- Outdated information — Laws, regulations, and financial products change. Anaya's knowledge has a cutoff date and may not reflect the latest updates
- Contextual limitations — Anaya cannot understand your full situation and may miss important nuances in your specific circumstances
- Always verify — For any important decision affecting your family's finances, estate planning, or legal matters, always consult with qualified professionals
Updates to This Policy
We may update this policy as our AI capabilities evolve, as regulations change, or as we improve our practices. Significant changes will be communicated via email, in-app notification, or on this page. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy indicates when it was last revised.
